Turkish Riviera is the most stunning part of Turkey's Mediterranean coast

As of 2020, Turkey has a staggering 486 beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag. They must meet certain standards for example: to be safe and clean, before they get this prestigious award.

32 criteria must be met

Before being awarded a blue flag, the beaches must meet 32 important criteria such as: licensed lifeguards, special arrangements for disabled citizens, secure swimming areas if there’s water sports in the area and many more important factors.

Where can you find these beaches?

Antalya 

Antalya, also known as the Turkish Riviera is the most stunning part of Turkey's Mediterranean coast with its glorious all-year round sun, endless clean beaches, ultra luxurious resorts, nature and history. Antalya is home to 206 of the 486 beaches with the blue flag certificate and has the highest number of beaches with a blue flag certificate in the world.




Mugla

The southern Aegean city, Mugla has some of the most popular beaches of Turkey and 105 beaches awarded with the blue flag.

Izmir

Izmir, the southern Aegean city, has 52 beautiful beaches that have been awarded with the blue flag. 

Aydin

Aydin has 35 beaches awarded with the blue flag certification.

Balikesir

The northern Aegean city, Balikesir has 31 beaches awarded with the blue flag.

Canakkale

Canakkale has 13 glorious beaches awarded with the blue flag.

 

Mersin

Mersin, on the eastern Mediterranean coastline of Turkey, has a very long coastline extending from the city center out towards the west. Mersin has 9 blue flag beaches.
